A.C.T. VIII
This is a ‘recreated’ post written on 15 August 2024. I recently went disc golfing with an old friend, my rival, JumboC. We discussed many of the old times playing in the Amateur Challenge Tournament (ACT) and I had nothing on here to reference as they were all on Facebook. This post will be a placeholder where I’ll put in the deteriorated pictures I’ve downloaded from there, until a time when I’ll add context about the day.
[Approximately] 3 June 2012
This tournament was the ACT’s eighth, but the second in which we participated.
The man who I ‘erased’ in this year’s group photo is not the same chump who was erased from the year prior. The situations are different depending on from whose perspective you look.
Amazingly, our combined skill levels were such that we all placed in the same group [at least for the first round. JumboC and I were in the same for the final.
This was the final year we played in the lowest-tier bracket, the Recreational. It turn out that JumboC would only loose out on the championship trophy to a 14-year-old… who would then become one of the highest ranked professionals in the state a few years later. Oh well.
