Jimmy Dore - Baltimore (2021)
Note, this was written in August 2024 to recreate a post which was lost. Old computer(s), Google Drive, Facebook, etc. were all searched for context, but not much was able to be recovered. We will try to add some details, but as our memories have faded, this may well be all that we have left of that moment in time.
Baltimore
Although the entire purpose of this visit was to see Jimmy, since this was my first time in Baltimore, and of course I knew of some of the history there, I went around town to see some of the other sites. The locations in the list below have [or will have] a jump-to link on it to better navigate this web page.
Fort McHenry
Inner Harbor
USS Constellation
Flag House
Washington Monument
Mick O’Shea’s Irish Pub
Fort McHenry
I only had time for a quick walk through the historic fort…
Inner Harbor
USS Constellation
I didn’t actually go onto the ship, so there isn’t a gallery to showcase, but this collage is nice.
Flag House
The tour of the Flag House was interactive in that you use a phone to call an automated system that answers based on which display’s corresponding number was indicated.
Washington Monument
Although not ‘the’ Washington Monument, this was a really nice surprise to find. Climbing up the stairs to the view above reminded me the times I’ve gone up top of the Bunker Hill Monument in Boston.
Mick O’Shea’s Irish Pub
In every city I’ve ever been in there has been an Irish Pub, so I seek them out for a pint.
