L.C.I.A.C. Irish Fest (2023)
Note: this is an reposting of an event Nicole and Chi attended last autumn, and our the memories of that day have largely faded; apologies on the lack of detail.
I was so very pleased to see that the Litchfield County Irish American Club was newly established near me in 2022, and that they were holding a festival on the New Milford Town Green.
There will come a day when the children of the Irish no longer celebrate their rich and storied heritage, but to be sure, that day will be long after I have parted ways with this world.
The festival was in full swing when we arrived, but unfortunately the sky opened-up a bit too much for our liking, so we walked down to O’Connor’s Pub to wait out the rain and enjoyed a few rounds.
The rain did eventually stop, but we had other appointments to meet. Thankfully, everything was close together downtown and we were parked conveniently nearby.
The reason we were so keen to get to O’Connor’s was that they had a pub within walking distance of one of our homes in Torrington, Connecticut. We had so many fun night there until they had to close the location due to the covid pandemic. As of this posting they still have two more open in Brookfield, CT and Pawling, NY. Best of luck to them!
We hope that the LCIAC continue this event in the future.
