UCONN Football vs. Purdue (2021)

Note, this was written in August 2024 to recreate and reference a post which was lost. Old computer(s), Google Drive, Facebook, etc. were all searched for context, but not much was able to be recovered. We will try to add some details, but as our memories have faded, this may well be all that we have left of that moment in time.

3:00 PM, 11 September 2021

Temperature 80 °F; Wind None; Weather Sunny; Attendance 14,187.

The 0-2 Huskies “lost” to the 1-0 Purdue Boilermakers 49-0. Okay.

This was the fist game post head coach, Randy Edsall. He had announced he would be retiring at the end of the season the week before, but the next day UCONN announced that he had resigned effective immediately. Good riddance. It wouldn’t have mattered much what game we attended, the Huskies would only win one game that whole season; it was against Yale.

I now see that Jack Plummer was their quarterback, I didn’t know who he was at the time. Maybe that explains their half-a-dub loss? Yeah, that was it.

I was able to find a UCTV post game YouTube highlight of the game…
