UCONN Football vs. Temple (2012)
Note, this was written in August 2024 to recreate and reference a post which was lost. Old computer(s), Google Drive, Facebook, etc. were all searched for context, but not much was able to be recovered. We will try to add some details, but as our memories have faded, this may well be all that we have left of that moment in time.
13 October 2012
The 3-6 Huskies lost in overtime to the 6-3 Temple Owls by the score of 17-14. God damn it!
This was a special day. I sat up and watched the game in the fully catered UCONN box. I was with my girlfriend at the time, lovely girl, but not the love of my life, Nicole, so I’m not going to share any of those pictures out of respect for her.
“I thought UCONN had red trim and could get away with my sweatshirt. Unfortunately Temple wears reddish colors. Great.”
The nice thing about the box is the VIP treatment. I saw the mascot, Jonathan the Husky, and the red headed cheerleader down on the field and wanted a picture with them... and the concierge delivered them to me. Wicked!
Interestingly, the husky mascot and logo have been changed right after this was taken. The school went with a ‘tougher’ version of him.

I also knew that my really good friends at the time were there. I want to show how I remember one of them; he is pictured erased. I used a 300mm lens on my Nikon D50 to get the zoomed in pictures of the guys in the overview collage. I knew where the Don was and went down to meet up with them. I’m with ‘really’ a good friend that guy.
“It was like a ‘Where’s Waldo?’ except I was trying to zoom in on friends who were wearing the same things everyone else was wearing!”

Even though I didn’t spend much time at the game with Don Pedro, I had to say hello and maybe have a beer or two. I’ll be seeing you soon buddy… in three weeks for the Pittsburg Panthers home game.
