A.C.T. XII
This is a ‘recreated’ post written on 15 August 2024. I recently went disc golfing with an old friend, my rival, JumboC. We discussed many of the old times playing in the Amateur Challenge Tournament (ACT) and I had nothing on here to reference as they were all on Facebook. This post will be a placeholder where I’ll put in the deteriorated pictures I’ve downloaded from there, until a time when I’ll add context about the day.
Sunday, 5 June 2016This tournament was the ACT’s twelfth year, but the sixth in which we participated.
Another year playing in the Amateur Challenge Tournament. It was a ‘beautiful’ day.
I don’t have any pictures I took that year except for three that I posted on Facebook, what a shame.
In preparation for the event, the tee-box on the first hole was moved in order to try to keep throws out of private land on the right.
“[JumboC,] the tee-box on the first has a new position. I still don’t think I can clear the high grass, going to be throwing directly at that guys house on the right now.
Probably, I’m always OB on that one anyway, just might have company now, lol”

I don’t think we were still playing in the Recreational division where they sometimes use temporary markers… the picture of JumboC throwing on the first hole was only until they could officially build a new tee box later in that year… or was that a ‘toss-off’ challenge? He is facing far to much to the right for the first hole pin!
Anyway, I know that I beat JumboC heavily in the first round and even though he beat me in the second, I was the overall winner this year. Our head-to-head record in this tournamet was now tied up at three apiece!
