Boston Duck Tour, I
Note, this was written in August 2024 to recreate a post which was lost. Old computer(s), Google Drive, Facebook, etc. were all searched for context, but not much was able to be recovered. We will try to add some details, but as our memories have faded, this may well be all that we have left of that moment in time.
1:30 PM - 3:30 PM, 4 October 2019
Nicole and I went up to Boston for the weekend to have a little fun.
We wanted to get on the water, so tried the ‘duck boat’ for the first time. A year or so later we took another trip, see our post, Boston Duck Tour, II.
The Boston Duck Tour [link is the official website] company has been in operation since 1994 and it is a great way to see some general landmarks and a view the the water can never be beat.
For years people on the streets would ‘quack’ at the boats but apparently this is discouraged now or has at least fallen out of fashion.
Also, they have driven the players around in over a dozen professional sports championship parades in Boston, four or five of which I attended!
[As stated in the prologue, this post is being written five years after the fact so we are just posting pictures for now.]
I have video that we took of the trip but I’m not in the mood to put that together and upload it, so for a little more context, here is an official company promotional video on YouTube from about that same time:
Driving times are approximate:
Boston = 0 h, 0 m.
Tolland = 1 h, 30 m.
Hartford = 1 h, 50 m.
New London = 2 h, 0 m.
New Haven = 2 h, 15 m.
Torrington = 2 h, 30 m.
NYC = 4 h, 20 m.

We were in Boston to go to an autumn "volksfest," a people's festival, the following day, but there is always lots to things to do while there.
