Kelly’s Roast Beef
9:45-10:30 AM, Saturday, 7 March 2020
Our hotel was on the North Shore, so the most convenient and safest way to go downtown was by taking the ‘T’ from Riverside Station in Revere. Of course, Kelly’s roast Beef [the original location] was nearby and, of course, we ate there.
I took the opportunity to screenshot myself on their webcam while we were waiting. I’m not sure why i don’t have picture of the food. Anyway, it was a Superbeef with mayonnaise and sauce on the side. Nicole probably had the same and we split the large onion rings.
The timestamp on the cam seems to state 6:47 AM but it would be wrong. We LOVE the beef but, if true, that would be a little extreme! The webcam is always live, click to open the link: Kelly’s live stream
#HarpoonStPats
12:00-4:00 PM, Saturday, 7 March 2020
This was our first time back since the pandemic… and it was as packed as we remembered it to be.
The video of the Colum Cille Pipes & Drums, Cape Cod's Premier Pipe and Drum Band, was from the night before we were there, but it’s the same.
And, even though we had done it beofre, we took the brewery tour again.

Shamrock Splash
The Shamrock Splash always concludes Harpoon’s festivities, and this 10th annual event was once again at the BCYF Curley Community Center, M Street Beach, South Boston. We cheered them on, but who knows, maybe someday I’ll take the plunge.
The event was posted on the Save the Harbor / Save the Bay YouTube channel, and it possible but extremely difficult to see us in the background.

Castle Island Brewing
On the road back to Connecticut, we stopped off at another brewery, Castle Island Brewing Company. I’ve purchased their beer from our local package store on a few occasions, but couldn’t drive past without checking them out.
Another cool reason to stop was the fact that my 9th great-grandfather, Richard Davenport, 1606-1665, was killed by lightning while commanding the fort at Castle Island, which was in Boston Harbor but is now land-locked by a landfill causeway.

Powder Hollow Brewing
…and, of course, we stopped at one more brewery, the Powder Hollow Brewing Company. We once again used the CT Beer Trail Passport for a free beer! I’m not sure but I think the calories in these brews are starting to catch up to me.
