Jimmy Dore - Philadelphia (2019)
Note, this was written in August 2024 to recreate a post which was lost. Old computer(s), Google Drive, Facebook, etc. were all searched for context, but not much was able to be recovered. We will try to add some details, but as our memories have faded, this may well be all that we have left of that moment in time.
This was the second time that I met Jimmy Dore, the first was during the DNC Convention that was also held here three years prior. It was also nice to have a moment to talk with his wife, and fellow comedienne, Stefane Zamorano.
His political stand-up comedy was gold, and since it was back in 2016 BC [before covid] he had a meet-and-greet after the show.
Philadelphia
Although the entire purpose of the trip was to support Jimmy, I had some time both before and after the show to walk the city. There was a lot less happening this time around!
I donned my Bernie Sander’s sweatshirt and took in some of the sights around town, some of which I didn’t get to see the first time I was here but a few fan favorites as well.
I also had my third ‘cheese steak,’ which normal people call steak & cheese.
In the gallery below are included stops at the Independence Hall, Penn’s Landing, The Irish Memorial, The President’s House, Museum of the American Revolution, The Plough & the Stars, and the National Constitution Center.
New York City
I also had time to see a little bit of the Big Apple [Jesus Christ] while I waited for my final train transfer home.
In the gallery below are included stops The Irish Hunger Memorial, National September 11 Memorial, One World Trade Center, NYC Municipal Archives, and Libretto’s Pizza, a.k.a. some generic pizza place…
