Land of Nod Winery, III

This was most certainly the third time Coley and chi have been to Land of Nod. No proof can be found, so “Land of Nod, I & II” do not exist as posts here.

WEATHER: 84°F WITH A 'REAL-FEEL' OF 97°F; HUMIDITY 75%; PRESSURE 29.86 IN; WIND SPEED WNW-2MPH; CLOUD COVER 76%; VISIBILITY 15 MI.

The failed panoramic picture above shows too pictures that, after some manipulation, should ‘connect;’ sometimes the phone just does a better job of it. Anyway, I’m done with that project for the time being. It is what it is.

Our flights are listed below; we added a bottle of Winter Pear.

As a quick review, I definitely appreciated the fact that they have such a variety at reasonable prices; something that is not always the case around Connecticut.

White

  • Rosé = Summer in a bottle. This French style wine has the lively flavors of wild berry on the palette with a citrus finish.

  • Fly Fisher = Delicate balance of crisp fruit and floral notes. This wine is refreshing and perfect for outdoor fares like barbecues and picnics, and is especially delicious with chargrilled chicken, an array or seafood, ethnic food and fruit-based dessert dishes.

  • Bianca = Light bodied white wine with low acidity and low tannins. Delightful aromas and flavors of honey and ripe Bosc pears with hints of allspice.

  • Winter Pear = This medium bodied wine is a combination of white grapes and pears fermented together in stainless steel. This wine is mildly sweet with a great pear finish. Enjoy with baked brie.

Red

  • Marquette = This estate grown wine is a medium bodied, fruit forward, red wine. Lights hints of strawberry and cherry make it the perfect summer red.

  • Artisan Field Blend = A blended red wine handcrafted from several varieties of dark red grapes planted together in one field. Made in the old fashioned, settler style, all the varieties are picked at the same time, crushed and fermented together, offering the perfect combination of boldness, fruit, and spice.

  • Corot Noir = Medium bodied, intense red color with raspberry/cherry like aromas. Its tannin structure is complete from the front of the mouth to the back, with large, soft tannins.

  • Blueberry-Raspberry Medley = Wine Fruit wine made from a unique blend of blueberry and raspberry juice. Semi-sweet, full-bodied, and refreshing. Great alone or with food.

This particular visit saw really high heat and humidity. The staff told us that the chocolate kiss they hand out for the dessert wine might melt… and it did. We made it work though.

There are no easily searchable YouTube videos which might explains more.
