Willimantic Brewing Company, III
This was Nicole and my second time here together, the last being a few years prior when we used the “Hop Passport” for BOGO beer. No information nor pictures could be found to share, so “Willimantic Brewing Company, II” does not exist as a blog entry.

We went to Willibrew specifically because they chose to participate in the “2024 Connecticut Field Trip Passport,” if they didn’t we would not have driven to Willimantic. The food was awesome; we shared a order of buffalo wings with a side of their Oy-Vey sauce. Even though the sauce was super spicy, we handled it like champs. I don’t think the quesadillas came with carrots and celery, and those might have been holdovers that were with the wings.

The waitress told us that if we drank the sours in a “Zorro” order [a Z; top right to bottom left] we wouldn’t blow out our pallets. I was amazed that she knew of Zorro, I had thought is was an antiquated show that even I could only reference from having watched the re-runs in the 1970s. Turns out that Zorro has a lot of reimagining in TV and films since then. Little did I know.
…Jesus Christ! I am just now seeing, even after drawing the pattern on the picture, that we drank it in the wrong order… I must have some dyslexic in me. How did Nicole not stop this from happening? Maybe it was that these were a ‘dessert sampler,’ by no means our first drinks.
“Zorro famously uses the letter Z as his ‘mark,’ using his sword to carve it into the clothes, or sometimes the bodies, of his adversaries in three swift strokes.”
It is curious that Willibrew would have so many sours and not one New England IPA. Someone needs to talk to the brewery about this.
