Oktoberfest - Torrington (2022)
Note, was written in August 2024 to recreate a post which was lost, and we want to reference it in our upcoming celebratory post in September of 2024. Although our Oktoberfest experiences only go back a few years, so much of the true experience is still going to be lost. Old computer(s), Google Drive, Facebook, etc. were all searched for context, but not much was able to be recovered. We will try to add some details, but as our memories have faded, this may well be all that we have left of that moment in time.

It was awesome the Oktoberfest the year before was successful so they could continue the celebration. After all, it is Downtown Torrington’s only public outdoor beer festival! We had spent the entire day at the Big E, see post Eastern States Exposition, II, so we were a little tired when we got there, but it was worth it. I didn’t have my phone/camera on me or I would have taken [a lot] more pictures. I’m glad to share these few that were sent to me.
The event is very well organized, hosted again by Edward Cannata and Main Street Torrington, and Dennis Polisky and the Maestro’s Men Band was great, as usual. I had a few beers from our local breweries: Bad Dog Brewing Company; Brewery Legitimus; Great Falls Brewing Company.
As a bonus, it was a pleasure to see that my friend, and local legend, Brian O'Heron, was there too. I’m glad I was able to spend some time with him.
Not pictured here was the amazing food. They offered 10" Bratwurst, bun-length Hot Dogs, sauerkraut, red cabbage, German potato salad, Bavarian pretzels, German chocolate cake, and of course, strudel.
